Rescheduling Court
If you are unable to attend Court on the assigned date, you may try to seek the consent of the other party for an adjournment and also contact the Court to request an adjournment.
You may be required to formally seek an adjournment through a form C2.
Failure to attend the First Directions hearing or seek an adjournment of a hearing which you cannot attend can lead to circumstances which could result in an Order being made in your absence which does not take into account any arguments you may have or future evidence you may wish the Court to consider on your behalf.
